PRS Runtime

The PRS Runtime must be installed on every PC that runs the PRS Client application. It only needs to be installed once (no need to reinstall when upgrading the PRS Client).

When you install the PRS Client from CD-ROM you will be automatically prompted to install the Runtime if it is not already installed, so you won’t normally need to install or reinstall the PRS Runtime manually.

The PRS Runtime can be installed (or reinstalled) manually from the PRS CD-ROM (this is the easiest and the recommended way of doing it), or by downloading the PRS Runtime from the PRS Website.

Installing the PRS Runtime from CD-ROM

  1. Close the PRS if it’s currently open.

  2. Insert the PRS CD-ROM and wait for the PRS Setup window to appear.

  3. Start the Runtime installer manually by pressing Ctrl+Shift+R.

  4. When the installer opens click the Install Now button and follow the on-screen instructions.

Installing the PRS Runtime from the Web

  1. Close the PRS if it’s currently open.

  2. Open your Web browser and download the runtime.

  3. Double-click the downloaded prs2k_runtime.zip file to open the archive.

  4. Double-click the application named SETUP inside the archive to start the installer.

  5. When the installer opens click the Install Now button and follow the on-screen instructions.

Reinstalling the PRS Runtime

If you need to reinstall the Runtime use the same install procedures described above. The only difference is that when the installer starts you should:

  1. Press the Repair Microsoft 2000 Runtime button.

  2. Select the Install Access Runtime option the press the Finish button.
